Musings from a bilumi review session

Friday, May 23rd, 2008 by Clay

Eating fancy chocolate in workshop settings is becoming commonplace for me.

Lindsey and Clay

I’m chatting with Sherri and Lindsey as they plow through the reviews in our database, rating as they go. Not a bad way to spend my time. Actually, organizing volunteer effort can be just about the best thing ever. People are so open and happy when they finally make time to volunteer. It’s a really nice side of humanity and I’m reminded what a privilege it is to work on this project full time.

I also attended the lectures (in civilian clothes), learned a lot, and made a bunch of good connections. Mark Tovey’s lecture about using accumulated data structures for world wide problem solving was particularly useful. Check out his book.

We used the opportunity to introduce our research guide and the new face of our website to the peeps that came to see us. Our raven friends set a fun mood while our awesome volunteers gave out samples of locally produced chocolate products and showed people how to use our site.
