Landman Report Card in Goodcleantech The Computing Culture group at MIT’s Media Lab is publishing an information sharing service that extends the Buy It Like You Mean It open source code. The Landman Report Card will allow land owners to negotiate with oil and gas companies on an even playing field when they are approached by company representatives. Honest representatives will develop a good reputation through this service. The bad guys should be flushed into the open.

The project has aspirations to assist in record keeping, litigation and other forms of activism addressing the gas extraction industry’s practices.

Good work guys!

cool. This echoes an idea I remember Clay expressing in an audio clip on this site — about trying to bring greater equality of information to parties when they do transactions throughout our economy. Consumption transactions are actually just a subset of what can be affected!
