Our first public event!!

That’s right! We rocked Union Square right along side lots of other cool food related projects at Somerville’s Project YUM festival on Saturday. Several people came up to speak with us who had already gotten excited about our project from reading our write up in the Somerville Arts Newsletter!

Shaunalynn Duffy (our Outreach Coordinator), on the right, participated in MIT’s first annual 60 second Elevator Pitch Contest last night.

Senator On-Line runs for office!
Sunday, October 14th, 2007 by ClayThere’s a group of Australian folks who have put a virtual candidate up for office, Senator On-Line. The idea is that every time a vote is required they’ll simply poll the internet and see how their senator should vote!
YUM festival
Saturday, October 13th, 2007 by LucyDan and Eggar worked diligently right up to the last minute to get the site in order for the festival. Chia, a peer from MIT and friend of Marcos and Sam, joined the team in the fall, too, and did great work getting the volunteer packet together. It turned out that laptops are hard to read on sunny days, and people are not too interested in entering data at festivals, either. The kids liked our commercial, though. Talking to people was valuable for general feedback, though, as well as being kind of fun.
